I don't know if it is possible to know if concentrated oils deter a determined rodent, but this system is nice. The silver dollar sized pellets slip into a small cloth bag and can be placed anywhere. I have a pick-up truck that was not used over the winter and the mice got in and made a real mess of things. I tried many options to reduce the stink but always with a residual (I suspect there is still a nest under the dash). I placed these pellets over the air vent on the dash and it worked to make the cabin tolerable until I can get the nest removed at the repair shop. I find the peppermint aroma pleasing.

Too soon to answer the big question--will they keep mice out of my RV?--but honestly, I'm convinced that absolutely nothing works perfectly to do that. All I can say is that these are easy to use, and versatile--you can use them anywhere inside an RV, because they don't smell horrible, and they hold up outside on and around tires or underneath the RV on the frame. One more weapon in the war against mice, hopefully it will do its part, so far I'm hopeful.

I tried these 24 PCS Peppermint Oil Mouse Repellent Balls to keep rats and mice away from my home and garden. The good news is that they seem to work—since placing them around, I haven't had any rodent issues. They’re easy to use and safe for family and pets, which is a big plus. However, I wasn’t a fan of the scent. It’s quite strong and smells more like mothballs than fresh peppermint, which was a bit off-putting. The smell lingers and can be a bit overwhelming, especially indoors. Still, if you're looking for a natural deterrent that actually works, these are effective, just be prepared for the scent.Overall, I’d recommend them if you don't mind the fragrance—they do a good job at keeping pests away!

We are in an older farmhouse in a rural location, which means mice and other animals surround us.Since they are always looking for a way to get in our house, we are obviously always looking for a way to keep them out. These balls are great because they are not poison, making them safer to use around out pets. They also don't kill pests, which means we don't have to worry about cleaning up the remains of trapped or poisoned mice.Better yet, using these is so easy. you just place a ball in a fabric sack, then place the sack anywhere you do not want rodents to appear. For some reason, the scent of these, which is strong, does not bother me.It is a mix of moth balls and peppermint, which reflect its ingredients. When handling the balls, you will want to wear gloves to the smell from transferring to your hands. You will also need to replace the balls periodically to keep the olfactory deterrent strong. While they are not our only line of defense, setting these around the perimeter of our house does appear to make entry less attractive to most rodents and other pests. In the end, I would recommend these because they work for us.

We are having trouble with mice getting into our screened in patio under our deck. They can certainly squeeze through the tiniest opening imaginable! After finding that our new cushions and blankets had become a birthing center for mama mice, we had to do something. They chewed though and destroyed everything in just a few days. We put traps down and they just avoided them. We decided to try these repellants. We placed 3 along the perimeter of the screened in patio, stuffing one into the space where we believe they were getting in. So far NO additional mice have gotten into our space!! We thoroughly cleaned the space after we found it had been invaded and no additional droppings or destruction has happened since putting the repellant out. Here is the BUT........they stink terribly! When we are just sitting in the space we can smell them. They smell like mothballs. Not pleasant when you are eating or sipping a drink, they really are that strong. We have to move them away from the space when we are out there and put them back when we go inside. Kind of inconvenient but the bottom line is they are working. Definitely would not put them inside our home though. Recommend the product for their effectiveness, but dang, they stink!!!!

The taste is very pungent. It tastes like this ball all night in the kitchen. It doesn't feel like mint. It's not recommended
