Extract the natural juice from high liquid fruits and vegetables with the power of steam! Just boil water in the bottom pan and place produce in the top colander. As the water boils, steam rises and concentrated juice drips into the center juice kettle

My husband decided to order this so that I could make muscadine pepper jelly. I was skeptical, but boy was I wrong! Super easy to juice 14 lbs of grapes at one time. I love that the unit is very versatile and can be used for so many things...steaming crab legs, oysters, shrimp or remove the top and middle and use it to cook whatever you desire!

So I always wanted a steam juicer, and ordered it a week ago. I had seen people raving about using it as a stock pot (but why??). However, on the day it arrived I was 3 large pots into both parsnip and beetroot wine recipies and had no other large pot in which to strain the liquid and stir in the sugar. Ah-ha! I had the juicer ! I have to say the base pot and glass lid (in fact all components) are so well made. It worked out great - and great timing too! Really, really well made and balanced. The handles are well balanced too. Very, very happy with this purchase albeit months from juicing anything!

I bought this steam juicer as an addition to my canning kitchen earlier in the summer to take advantage of the heavy crop of Josta berries in my garden. Josta berries are in the gooseberry family but they are a deep purple when fully ripe. They make delicious jams, conserves and pies but the crop was so heavy that I wanted to try juicing. After reading many reviews and the enclosed booklet I washed and stemmed the fruit and loaded the top of the steamer. I estimate that the process from start to finished product took approximately 2 hours. The juice builds up on the bottom of the steamer but is held back by the clamped rubber tube so you don't feel pressure to stand by to release it into your containers. When you see a backup of juice in the tube you can hold your container below the tube and release the clamp. You will do this numerous times throughout the process. I did not try to squeeze more fruit from the berries by mashing the them towards the end of the process. This steamer will work well for blackberries and most importantly I think, the aronia berries that are a late ripening fruit with a large pit. The steamer is easy to clean and stacks well. I have used it to steam corn and clams so it's multipurpose function is appreciated.

This is a solid steam juicer. I have been using it to make grape juice for 3 years. I have another cheaper model (VPK1148) and can make a comparison. This model:- The stainless steel finish is shiny and easy to clean and keep it shining- The water pan is bigger and with thicker bottom- The steamer baskets does not have holes in the center, which prevents juice from dripping directly into the water pan- The juice flows at a slower rate with this pot, which I didn't know until I purchased the other model- 5 year warranty, which works great! I had an issue with my water pan this year and the company sent me a new one for free and without questions askedModel VKP1148:- Aluminum body, which stains and is harder to maintain "good looks"- There are no handles on the water pan- Smaller water pan (need more frequent refilling) with thin bottom (more prone to burns)- The steamer basket slowly seeps straight into the water pan and you end up boiling watered juice- The juice flows very fast out of the hose, which decreases the overall time taken to process a "batch"- 2 year warrantyIf you're looking for dependability, better material and longer warranty, I'd choose this item. If you're looking strictly for faster output, I would choose the VPK1148 and put up with the lack of handle on the water pan and having to refill it more often. Personally, I like having both.

Bought this for my boyfriend. It produced the most juice he has gotten from grapes vs boiling and squeezing and a lot easier. He is impressed with it.

I've owned my steam juicer for quite some time. It gets used mostly when I am making elderberry juice although I've also used it to make grape juice (massive discount on grapes one weekend). I haven't had any trouble with the steam juicer itself. My hurdle is working with the juice extraction and making sure I don't get burned. I have found having oven gloves with gripping dots gives me the best experience when it comes time to extracting the juice. It has many other uses (such as using the bottom pan as a roaster) but I haven't tried that yet. I'm very pleased with my steam juicer.

Amazing pit to juice fruits, and pretty much anything else. I like the size, the versatility, that it is made of stainless steel, has a glass lid....my first season with this and it juiced grapes like a dream. Great output of juice, you add the water, wash and add the fruit, and let it do its thing. Important to watch it, softer fruits will juice sooner ie grapes vs plums. I used the juice for jellies, and canned the juice straight for storage to enjoy later. Good instruction booklet that guided me well and has some recipes.

Like the rivets, rubber/silicone handles and heavy duty thick base. Also is steel so works on my portable induction hotplate so I can use it outside in the summer to keep from heating up the house.I have used it for black currants, crab apples. apples and elderberries. Just did elderberries today and from 5kg of berries I got 4L of juice (80% yield!) which is amazing. The holes in the steamer portion are small enough that elderberries can't get through so you could pretty much use this for anything. The drain hose is silicone so NOTHING sticks/stains it. Boiling hot elderberry juice just rinses away with hot soapy water. You don't really need the glass lid as you base it on time but for all the other aspects of this pot I would not hesitate to buy this vs a knockoff.I tend to juice for 60-90 min depending on the value of my fruit. Low value fruit 60 min, high value fruit 90 min. You get the bulk in the first 30 min, then yields drop 50% for the next 30 min then to 25% for the last 30 min. So for example 8 cups first 30 min then 4 cups next 30 min then 2 cup last 30 min.To get an idea of capacity of the steamer, it can hold 5kg (11 lbs) of berries or 5.5kg (12 lbs) of crabapples/small apples.5 stars. Way better than boiling then straining though cheesecloth.

I really liked how easy this was to set up, and it worked very well with providing nice, clean juice. The first time I did it though, I kept checking the hose to see if any juice was in it, but nothing. It was kind of late at night so I had to shut everything off, and just left it. The next morning I turned the stove back on and kept checking it as there was just a tiny bit of juice in the hose. We added more water to the stock pot and all this time I didn't realize that the juice was ready to come out as I had the spring pinching the hose closed like it says to do. I misunderstood the directions. My husband said, "Maybe you have to release that so that the juice can come out, kinda like siphoning gas." Well I did this and Wow! Out came the steaming hot juice! So that was a lesson learned! All in all a very good tool to have in the kitchen. No more jelly bags! This is such a great way to process a lot of fruit in a short period of time. It is worth the money for sure, however, I can't give it 5 stars because that would mean that it is perfect, and to be honest... nothing man made is perfect... there will always be room for improvement. The one thing I did not like about the cleaning part was that the strainer was marked up, in quite a few places, by the fruit, so I used vinegar and after a bit of scrubbing, was able to get it clean. Nothing too major, however I noticed that there was black on the wash cloth, not sure why this happened, but the vinegar got the strainer clean. Also the stock pot needed a real good dose of vinegar too, as it was kind of white from the hard water. Vinegar works well to bring back the shine of the stainless steel. I have to wonder if this unit is 100% stainless steel or if there are other metals in it to cause the discoloring. Remember to keep your eye on the water in the stock pot that it does not go dry.

A friend borrowed us her Victorio juicer this past summer to use for gooseberries. We could not believe now easy it was to use the unit and the amount of juice we obtained for jams, etc. Easy to put together, easy to clean. An excellent product!
