I've tried a few different "reusable" water balloon type things and so far these make the most sense. They are a round sponge that soaks up a lot of water on the inside but the outside which of course has many openings, is a thin silicone. I like this because if it was just a sponge it would wear out more easily. The silicone around it helps with durability without affecting the performance. My son loves to play with these in the pool. There are four different colors included!

These balloons allow for many hours of fun without the messiness of debris, and other things that can get stuck in your ball when you are playing in the water. The mateiral is soft and safe and the sponge sucks up the water very fast making it super fun for he kids to have in the summer.
