These remove paint and rust aggressively and dont wear down as quickly as some of the other inexpensive drums I've tried out.

This fits well and works as well as any other brand of sanding drum. I use this 36 grit one to remove surface rust and paint, and prepare steel for primer. It works quickly to remove the old paint down to clean metal; there was some initial vibration, as it arrived very slightly out of round, but this corrected itself within the first five minutes use - I suspect it was compressed in storage before shipment. Working and holding up to use.

Fits my no-name burnishing tool perfectly. I'm using it to remove paint from an old pickup I'm restoring. It rips through three coats of paint and a layer of primer like nothing. I leaves a pretty smooth bare metal surface ready to finish.

This took all the mill scale off a 10' long 2"x4" heavy rectangular tube in about 7 minutes. Need I say more? Ok, how about that it barely wore away the abrasive on the wheel? I am seriously stoked with this thing.

This is a decent product if you have a surface conditioning tool however it can be a bit rough for wood I find. Its much more ridged than the red ones I typically use and as such it can hop a lot when working on wood surfaces. This one would work well for steel and such which is mostly what people use these tools for however I like to use them to strip paint from wood and this one is just a bit to ridged for my liking. However it does a good job otherwise and is a great product.

I like the ease of use with these wide drums over the same type of material on angle grinders. This drum is a lot better on my arms for some reason. And just like the 4.5 style discs, this thing makes PILES of paint dust in a hurry. Overall, they also seem to last a comparable length of time so what seems like a more expensive option really is about the same price in the end. So, if you have carpal tunnel from using your angle grinder, you might want to try out one of these on the drum sander. My wrists feel so much better.

In my fabricating shop, I use this to remove mill scale from square and rectangular tubing. It works great for this purpose, as it does not gouge up the material like a flap wheel would. I'm satisfied with the results I get from this surface conditioning tool.
