I loved how everything was clearly labeled—each bolt, pin, and bracket had its own spot in the package. Sliding my fat‑tire commuter bike into the first tray was effortless. The trays have inch‑marks molded right in, so I knew I was centering the wheels properly. The adjustable hooks with foam padding gripped my frame without leaving a mark, and the heavy‑duty straps snapped in with a satisfying thump. Adding my lightweight road bike next to it felt just as intuitive, thanks to the tool‑free sliding arms. I drove a mix of city streets and a short stretch of gravel road. Not once did I hear a rattle or feel any sway—seriously, zero wobble. When I hit the highway, I kept it at 65 mph and the rack held rock‑steady. If you want a no‑nonsense, ultra‑stable rack that handles everything from skinny‑tire road bikes to bulky e‑bikes and fat‑tire cruisers, the WILDROAD Foldable 2‑Bike Rack is your ticket. Easy to set up, intuitive to use, and completely wobble‑free—it’s already become my go‑to for every ride.

Of course, this thing came disassembled, as expected and at first, I even thought I would spend a day putting it back together at the sight of all those little boxes of parts. However, it turned out to be not as bad as I thought, but in fact it was a pleasure to assemble and I was done in less than 30 minutes; literally 6 bolts and the rest just snap on.The first impression is very good - it's not too heavy thanks to the plastic platforms for the wheels and it's very easy to use. By the way these platforms are great for all sizes of wheels, much better than the common platforms in which small wheels sink and scratch. I love that everything moves in different directions with no tools required; it assembles very compactly when not in use and I even have a very nice access to the trunk. I would also like to point out that the kit came with a hitch tightener or hitch stabilizer whatever you wanna call it - this thing is absolutely necessary when using the trailer hitch to stabilize and prevent vibration. Overall, I am very satisfied with the design.

At slightly under 50 pounds, this is not a lightweight bike carrier, but it's a solid one. The steel pieces are well prepped and all parts fit correctly. It's well coated to resist harsh weather elements. The vertical rod can be folded to save space and open your cargo door without removal. The components that keep your bikes secure will not damage them and feel quite sturdy. Overall, it's a good buy.My only complaint is with the instructions booklet that came with it. First of all, it should warn you that you'll need some tools, like a monkey wrench and a ratchet driver with some sockets, or another wrench at least. Second, the instructions were poorly written and didn't always made sense. For example, some parts that seemed to come separately were already connected, and the placement of the top hooks didn't make sense. Other than that, although slightly inconvenient due to size and weight, the installation was relatively easy.Recommended. If you have any installation challenges, just check out the pictures from the listing and the reviews.

Rugged and well-designed, it tilts and folds with ease. The frame is made almost entirely of steel, and reassuringly thick steel at that. This is a simple, solidly based and very intuitive piece of equipment. Great value for money For the price, this is a very good bike rack, great value for money, this bike rack is a real compliment!

Title: Remove ebike from listing, then its a great product. This review is for the Wildroad Hitch Bike Rack Platform purchased the week of April 10, 2025Pros:1. Stronger than expected.2. Quality powder coat paint.3. Solid materials (Robust metal, hardware)4. Super well packed.5. Excellent tilt manuverabiliy.6. Light design and package.But?Cons:1. Rack barely fit width wheel base for the ebike (Walkee X3 Pro Max). I mean tire holders were maxed out.2. Vertical Hooks that pull down on frame. The verticle bar that hooks slide on was too short by 6 inches.Had to use the last tooth of the vertical bars adjusting range, which is too risky to rely on. Therefore, customer supplied cargo strap was needed to keep the hook from potentially popping up and off the rack.Of course, the cargo strap then compleyed the design concept of this rack to have the hook ratchet down on the ebike's upper cross frame for securing it downward into the two lower wheel cups.To make the hooks catch the first ratchet tooth, had to push down really hard on bike. This problem was exasperated by the two lower wheel cups not allowing the wide 26" fat ebike tires to properly sit down into the due to the wheel cups being too narrow. So the fat tires sit only a 1/2-3/4 inch own into the cup.You have to push down really hard on the ebike and hook to make hook reach just the last adjustment tooth pn the vertical bar.3. Verrtical frame security hooks too narrow and have limited shallow reach for an ebike top bar frame. So even if you get the hook down to the first ratchet tooth, the hook itself doesn’t have the width or reach to properly mount down upon the ebike top cross bar on the frame. There is only one piece of cross bar leading from the forks to the back wheel. Therefore no other frame part could be used.4. Hitch stabilizer attachment bracket:This is rhe small piece of metal clamped by two ubolts around ghe union point of the bike rack's hitch bar and your vehicle hitch 2" opening. It's works, but after only tightening very hard with a wrench supplied by the customer. So it works but has to be tightened down really hard.5. No tools were included. This would not be much of a problem for a mechanic based purchaser. However, there wete a couple of large size nuts requiring large sockets to assemble.Without the right size wrench or socket, a customer may need to take a special trip to home depot to buy the proper size. The nuts were not those you could use a pair of channel locks, pluets or a Cresent wrench to properly seat.Adding to assembly time and expense.6. The tire cups:Though well built composite material, are not wide enough to take the width of the large ebike wheels. So they just barely get into the cups, causing a safety issue where it is needed most. One good bump, and a wheel may jump out of the cup and its all over. The ebike gets destroyed falling off, and dragging behind the vehicle.7. Wheel Cup Holders (continued): The slide rail has a raised rivet head at both ends. This prevents the wheel cup bracket to slide an extra 1" wider.Possibly a design to keep brackets from just slipping off the sides. But these 2" were needed to get the wheel cups wide enough to center under the wheels. The workaround to this was to attach the wheelcup brackets over this rivehead to then get that extra two inches. This puts the wheel cup brackets precariously close to the ends of the cross bars. However, the rivets still did there job working under the mounting the points of the wheelcup brackets. The problem assist is now. The wheelcup brackets are permanently affixed to their position, preventing the customer from sliding them left and right for convenience purposes.8. Instructions pages (8.5 x 11) shhets of black and white paper staple together. The assembly instructions and/or user manual was not quality material. The quality of this trailer hitch bike rack deserved better than what looked like a photocopy of pages stapled together on a copy machine.Though complete, the instructions required some reading between the lines, adding to time to tjw assembly. The instructions were not clear enough in terms of part selection and hardware selection. It wasn't clear which hole a bolt should go through of the connecting parts of the bike rack.Requiring deciphering and contributing to confusion and the time to assemble.9. Tire straps:The tire straps were too short in lenght to wrsp around the large ebike fat tires. This completely nullified the straps causing the customer to improvise by buy more straps (another trip to home depot), adding assembly time and expenses to this product. The strapping down of each of the two wheels is a vital aspect of properly securing the bike to the bike rack. The straps needed at least 10-12 inches in length to reach the teeth of the attachment buckle and to allow overage for pulling down to tightenCons summarySo, the three points of contact, overall streamlined design of the rack, fails in the vertical crossbar hook downs, all wheel cups width, and wheel cup straps.Complete failure of design concept (though clever) this product deserved.Completely. incomplete. It's like. the vendor simply included "for ebikes" into the product listing just to get that market.Had they done the research, very simple research, they could have avoided these major design flaws. At every single point of the three points of contact (vertical bar height, hook width, wheel cup size and width span, and wheel straps.ALL DO NOT FIT ebikes, with respect to the Walkee X3 Pro Max which has thick frame upper cross bar, standard fat 26" ebike tires.Sure, the vendor listed some overview measurements and specifications in the listing, but really. This rack, which was made to work with added expense and creative effort, deserves better. It's as if they know what the markets are trending for ebikes, and they simply added ebike into there listings information. Perhaps to clear out their inventory before retooling properly for ebikes.I mean. each of the three points of securing contact weren't even close to making this rack work. Even for something as prevalent as the fat tires on ebikes.I challenge the vendor to show me a standard fat tire, 2025 26" ebike properly secured into the wheel cups of this rack. This rack really is built for non-ebike formats, mountain bikes. etc.It is a well built, sturdy rack, don't get me wrong. I wouldn't have done all the modifications to make it work. I would have just sent it right back. So, leaving leaving functionality of this kind at the mercy of the customer is simply irresponsible. As of now, all primary secure points need work arounds. To fix the too short vertical bar and too narrow hook, a ratcheting cargo strap is needed. To fix the too narrow wheel cups, well, there was no real solution but to crank down on the customer supplied cargo strap to try and "cork" the wheels into the narrow space.Lastly, to then strap the wheels into the wheel cups, auxiliary straps need to be incorporated into the process. As for now. and since the rack was needed at the time it was received, this customer was forced to make ends meet with the improvised fixes above.Meanwhile. the customer has a rack now blemished with a nasty RIGGED look, requiring extra mounting procedures and hassle on each load up.These fixes were not typical. So the average customer would not be inclined or capable of easily improvising such fixes as described above.Started with 3 stars, now moving it down to two. Kinda bait and switchy.I mean. really. you're ur putting a $1,000, $2,000, $3,000 ebike on this rack...Date: Aptil 13, 2025.
