These walkie talkies are very nice quality and come with everything that you need to be able to use them. They have rechargeable batteries, 2 charging cords that are USB-C type, and then 2 walkie talkies. They both came fully charged when I received them, which I really appreciated. The walkie talkies have 22 different channels to choose from, easy scanning, volume control, and push button communication. All controls are functional, easy to push/turn, and easy to navigate. They're all clearly marked identifying each function as well. The sound comes through clearly and is very easy to understand one another while communicating. We have 5 acres and I can clearly communicate to my husband and daughter when they're "exploring" the wooded area or playing in her treehouse. I haven't tried it any farther than that yet, but I feel like the range on these walkie talkies are really good- especially for this price point. The walkie talkies also have a built in flashlight with a push button on/off. The flashlight is at the top of the device, between the antenna and the power button and the control for the flashlight is on the face of the device with the other main function buttons. It's very simple and easy to use. Although this is a nice additional feature, it's also the only reason I didn't rate this a full 5 stars. While the light would help in a dire situation, it's not very bright at all. It would be enough to light directly around your feet while walking, or to shine in a backpack to see find your items better, but as far as lighting an entire pathway or area, it's not bright enough.Overall, these are great quality walkie talkies. Everything functions as it's described and it's very easy to use. They have a clear sound to make communication easier while backpacking, camping, farming, or whatever you would want to use them for. I am satisfied with this product.

I have the same type of radio that I use when riding with my mountain biking friends. We use them to keep in touch in case someone falls behind, gets a flat, misses a turn, and so forth. We also use them to warn each other of approaching hazards. The name-brand radio I've been using for years uses 3 AAA batteries and needs to be charged every couple of weeks. I always take a spare with me because the batteries go dead suddenly. With Lithium ion batteries, I expect this radio to go much longer before it needs charging. The radios have all the functions you need, and they're plenty loud enough to hear in most situations. I tried them with the radio I've had for years and they work together, including with the privacy codes activated.Unlike other radios that share the power on/off button with the menu button, these have a separate knob that also adjusts the volume. This is more convenient. The flashlight works, but it's pretty dim and won't be any good unless it's really dark. And then it could be a lifesaver!I think these are great compact radios for kids and adults alike!

As a licensed Amateur Radio operator and GMRS operator I know quite a bit about radios and own many high end handie talkies. I purchased these radios however as a set of "grab and go's" for my wife and I to use while we're at the park, doing work around the house, at a flea market or special event etc.In testing, do these radios feel rugged or are they made of extra high quality? No, they are quite light weight and feel as if they are made of plastic in a kids toy (they feel like toys honestly). With that said I did intentionally drop one a couple of times once or twice standing up chest level onto a wood floor padded with an area rug and a couple of times sitting in a chair onto the same surface and the radio did hold up. Maybe with an ever so slight scratch? The radios have a "flashlight" at top. Honestly I'm not sure why since this light doesn't illuminate much. Sort of a waste to have. I'd rather see a bulb in there to indicate when the mic is keyed up.I do like that the radios come equipped with a VOX feature so you can opt to have an "open mic" without hitting the push-to-talk, this can sometimes come in handy. There is also a convenient roger beep the radio makes after releasing the push to talk which I do like.I never like when radio manufacturers make claims that their radios go 5 miles, 10 miles, 100 miles (these claim to go 5 miles max) because mileage or distance will vary based on obstructions such as builings, florescent lighting etc. but these should be alirght if you're using them to talk with someone down the block, across the hall, yard, down a flight of steps etc.I do also like that these are on FRS (family radio service) frequencies so they should work with other brand FRS radios as well (like the Motorola or Midland blisterpack radios you can buy anywhere). In all if you need inexpensive walkies, these aren't bad. Are they the best? No not at all. But for the money I suppose they are alright. Try them and if you don't like them hand them over to your kids, neices, nephews etc. they'll have fun with them!
