Well I was disappointed to find that this was made of cheap plastic and not sturdy stainless steel like the listing claimed but the ruler still works as it's supposed to, it will just be more prone to breaking easier. The measurements are accurate and I like the additional smaller measurements for 1/8, 1/4, and 5/8. These are really common measurements I need to use while sewing. The compass works well to draw circles of different sizes. I found this ruler helpful while hemming 1/4 inch seams on doll clothes. The slider bar locks the measurement and holds my fabric down while sewing. I worry that over time since the numbers are painted on the plastic, they will wear off.

I am a perfectionist when it comes to quilting and after applying a binding to the back of a quilt and turning it over to the front for hand stitching, running this tool along the edge will really help me keep the width of the binding perfectly even. If you sew clothing, this is perfect for getting your hems even too. Just run the tool with one of the T edges along the outside of the seam and the other T shape along the inside edge of the seam. Keep both edges of your folded hem even along the edges of the tool and pin baste as you go around your hemline. Then you're all set to sew a perfectly even hem.
