I love the way this window film looks, but it does have some drawbacks. First of all, pay attention to how much you get. I thought it would cover an 18sq ft space (6x3), my mistake, not theirs, but it is literally a 6ft roll, and that's it. It is hard to cut to the size needed, without uneven edges. Installing it is a bit of a hassle. Even using water, I fought to get this stuff to cling to my window. Smoothing it out is a little hard because of the raised design. But once it is up, it is very pretty, putting tiny rainbows all over my living room when the sun shines through. I have had this installed for about a week now, and I do have to put a piece back up, as it has come loose and shifted.

We got this as we live in a very dark subdivision and had one neighbor who just ALWAYS kept their lights on and it would beam into our sunroom. Put these up on the sunroom windows to beam the light back at him and it worked GREAT, his lights are always off now. :) Kind of a pain to install nicely but totally worth it.

Sticks well! And it’s really pretty when the sun shines through. I don’t understand how people couldn’t get this to stick, are they putting the rough side on the window? The smooth side goes against the window and the rough side faces the room. And you need to clean your window pane(s) first and then spray them with water, doesn’t have to trenching wet, but just wet. Cut to size with included razor then use the velvet side squeegee and work out all the water bubbles. Super easy!

Make sure that you put this up with two people and be careful not to scratch the film. Highly effective in keeping the heat out during the hot summers and maintaining privacy during the day. Next time I order this I will definitely use more care and have another person to help me.

It blacks out the window. The only thing is you have to either get a perfect cut. I had to run a decorative tape around the edge to prevent light from seeping from the edges. this is only because the molding of the window was not perfectly even.

I am so wildly impressed. I just installed this like an hour ago and my apartment is already significantly cooler. I have floor to ceiling windows and no built in AC so my apartment was like a greenhouse. I regret not buying this sooner. It’s definitely going to pay for itself in electricity savings for not having to blast my portable AC unit anymore. Was pretty easy to install as well just be very liberal with the soapy water and you can slide it in place easy.

I was looking for an affordable DIY tint for my office's windows, both to tint some of the light coming in (I have 3 large windows right by my computer), as well as to make it so that people couldn't just look in on me. This tinting does dim some of the light coming through, so if you're looking for a privacy tint that doesn't dim the light, this isn't for you. (But, to be fair, I don't think there's any privacy screen or tint that you can see through, that doesn't also reduce the amount of light coming in.)Installation was tricky, and my tint doesn't look perfect (despite lots of effort, it is very difficult to smooth out the tint completely), but since it's just my office, I'm not too concerned. If you want it to look really perfect or professional, you'll either need an extra pair of hands and a lot of confidence in your ability to do this yourself, or possibly consider hiring a professional to do your tinting for you.
