I had a hard time figuring out how to install so that it folds completely on the highest setting. Simply put, install it the same way that the instructions say but when you install the platform piece where the child would stand, you’ll notice the side joint has two side by side holes. To be able to fold at the highest setting attach the platform piece by putting the screws in the second hole on the side joint, in a way that once installed the side joint juts out on the other side a little (see picture). If you do this it should fold completely on the highest setting.Hope this was helpful!

We bought this for my great nephew for Christmas. It’s so cool! He loves it. It’s safe and great quality not flimsy. He can use it himself with little help but lots of supervision of course. It’s a stool, ladder and a chalk board in one so that’s great. It’s a little big for small spots but functions well and doesn’t weigh too much. It’s a great value for the price.

I was searching for a kitchen helper stool for my son (21 months old) and I wanted one that would fold up for easier storage in our small house. I figured I’d give this a try. It was pretty easy for my husband to assemble this. Unfortunately, with the step on the highest level since my son is young and short, the stool does not fold up flat like it says it should in the description. My husband ended up having to take a router tool to it to create a bigger “path” for the folding piece to go.Also, when assembled, the front legs were at an angle that made it to where my son would have been too far away from the sink to wash his hands (or reach the counter). Another Amazon reviewer had the exact same issues and she posted a video in her review. To fix this, my husband ended up adding pieces on to the back legs to make them longer so that the front legs would actually be straight up and down, allowing the stool and therefore my son to get as close as possible to the counter/sink.After making the modifications my husband made, this stool is usable and folds in half now. My son calls it his “ladder” and seems to like it. It’s just frustrating that we had to spend $85+ on a stool that we ended up having to modify. If my husband wasn’t a carpenter, I wouldn’t have been able to make it work and would have returned it.

I knew I wanted to have the step stool for our kitchen for our daughter to help me cook and wash hands and dishes. But we have a super small kitchen. So I knew we’d need to be able to close the stool up and store. This is the best of both worlds!! It’s lightweight enough to collapse and store next to our kitchen. Even lightweight enough for our daughter to move it (while it’s opened). She loves to climb up and down on her own.I did have to purchase two. I forget now what was wrong with the first one—I think it was missing a part. But we just asked for a new one, waited for it to come and then sent the other one back. Super easy.

I encountered several issues with this item:1. A structurally important part is missing, which makes it impossible to assemble the tower so that it stands properly.2. There are stains on the product from an unknown source.3. The manual states that all bolts should be sorted into labeled bags corresponding to the parts they belong to. However, all bolts were placed in one bag, which made assembly very difficult.I kindly request a return or replacement. I’m happy to provide photos and any additional information if needed.

I’m actually sorry I didn’t get this sooner. I made the mistake of getting plastic little step stools in the past that just ended up breaking. This was super easy to put together (about 15 minutes with my son helping of course) and my 3 year old loves it. I love that it came with the chalk and a little eraser! Such a nice touch that I wasn’t expecting. Thank you very much!!
