This works great to help keep critters from my yard. The sensor definitely attracts attention but it's not overpowering if a human walks by. There is definitely an audible sound, but it's not too annoying that it bothers me that much. I like that it helps to deter any animals that may come close with both sounds and lights.

This is an okay small unit to stake into the ground, although it also seems to have two screw holes in the back so you may also be able to mount this on a wall, tree or fence post as it's not very wide (5.5 inches) with a depth of 3.5 inches so it won't stick out too much. The on/off switch is located on the bottom of the unit. The top of the unit has a small solar panel that charges the four 2/3 AAA batteries (Ni-HM rechargeable) that are sealed inside the unit. I did not open it up to see if they are removable or solder in there. You get three pieces to set the stake height you need or want.As I was putting the stake together, I noticed this white stress line along where the two pieces connect and the one being inserted had these "tabs" that ran along four points to make it snug I guess. That concerned me that the plastic may start to crack. It held for now, but I'm worried the days out in the Chicagoland weather may cause it to become brittle over time.Once setup and on, this will use a motion detector to sense when something nearby has moved. It can be human or rodent, doesn't matter as long as it moved within the detection area which is given as 30 feet. My yard is a bit tricky as I set this up in front of my central air unit but my wife also have a few veggie baskets near that would block a portion of the area. So in theory, the rodent can "sneak" up to those baskets potentially if it stays "hidden" behind them on the other side away from this unit.I also notice the sound initially when I turned it on, you are not supposed to hear it but I noticed it initially. I now only notice the light when I set it off - the light flashes on and off for a few seconds. I may need to play around with where I place this until I get it into a good spot - or perhaps get a second unit for better coverage. I did notice a rabbit and the squirrels didn't seem bother by it, but they were further back in the yard so perhaps out of the 30 feet radius of this unit.

This Solar Ultrasonic Animal Repellent has proven to be an effective and eco-friendly solution for deterring a variety of pests from my garden. The installation was straightforward, and I appreciate that it's solar-powered, which means I don't have to worry about replacing batteries or running cables. The motion detection feature is quite sensitive and activates when animals approach, which I've found effective in reducing visits from raccoons and squirrels since setting it up. It's also reassuring that the device is waterproof, as it has withstood several rainstorms without any issues. The ultrasonic sound seems to be effective in deterring small animals like rabbits, skunks, and even deer from nibbling on my plants. While I can't say it has completely eliminated all animal visits, there is a noticeable reduction, which has made a positive difference in my garden's health. The fact that it's environmentally friendly and doesn't use any harmful chemicals is a significant plus for me, as I prefer not to use pesticides.I also like that it's humane; it deters animals without causing them harm. Overall, this Solar Ultrasonic Animal Repellent has been a practical solution for managing unwanted wildlife in my yard. I would highly recommend it to others facing similar issues in their gardens or farms.

This FEARLEFT Solar Ultrasonic Animal Repellent was easy to set up right out of the box. Just insert one or two of the stands into the bottom of the motion detector, find some soft ground, push it down, then turn it on and you have a quick deterrent to animals wandering too near to a garden, or entrances to your home. The one issue I thought I'd have is the place I wanted to put it is under my deck where not much sunlight hits. However, even with just a couple hours of sun, this motion detector runs quite well. The real test is how this holds up when I leave it outside for the colder months.Overall, it's a bit pricey but it functions just great and SO simple to install and use.

I have been inundated with squirrels, skunks and feral cats lately, thought this might be a humane and effective solution. Well...humane it is...didn't seem to hurt (or deter) any living thing. The skunks continue unabated to tear up my lawn at night searching for skunk caviar (grubs) and occasionally letting me know they are there when irritated or scared. I thought initially it seemed to be effectively keeping the squirrels away, but they returned and are frolicking around the ultrasonic repeller with the light flashing away. The strong points are it doesn't require batteries, the light flashes as it should in response to activity and it assembles easily. Unfortunately, my varmint activity continues unabated. I can't quantify yet it's effectiveness against feral cats...they're sneaky. I will update if I find it effective.

I'm most pleased with its solar function. I don't have to worry about running out of battery or wiring, I just put it in a sunny place and it charges itself and keeps working. This kind of self-sufficiency in energy is not only convenient but also saves my electricity bill. In addition, it is waterproof design, which allows me to use it in all weather conditions without worrying about it being damaged by moisture. At the same time, the way of ultrasonic deworming is harmless to both people and pets, which makes me more assured in the process of use.
