The item that I ordered requires the thumb screw to be tightened down to hold the wheel in place once the cut depth is set. My problem was that once this was done, the wheel could not spin because it was being held in place by the thumb screw. If you loosen the thumb screw, the wheel drops down to maximum cutting depth. There should be some type of center spline to allow the shaft to rotated freely even when the thumb screw is fully tightened.

It edges better than any I've had in the past. But it's so powerful, that it threw rocks through the plastic casing. I have three holes in the casing from rocks now, so the material needs to be thicker or stronger.

Item works as supposed to. Easy to attach and just as easy to use. The only thing is, it doesn't look like the picture. Picture is gray but it's actually Ryobi yellow.

This is not as well made as it used to be. The one I bought many years ago could withstand cutting the edge between grass and gravel. This one, the plastic shroud coukd not withstand any gravel and had holes on the first use

This is a must have as far as having your drive and edges looking good. This cuts well and doesn’t dull easy. I’ve been using every week for months now and still going strong!

This edger is very well built. I have used a Troybilt 4 cycle edger for 8 years but it finally called it quits. I hesitated buying another Troybilt because of cost. This attachment cost $120.00 vs $230.00 for Troybilt. The only con is the weight. It is quality, all metal except the blade shroud. Ryobi makes good stuff!

Listen, I like to keep a nice looking yard. I thought I would use my string trimmer to keep a sharp edge to my lawn. After a few months, I realized the trimmer was not going to work. I know this add on is pricey but for me it was a perfect attachment for my wireless trimmer. Works great and lawns edges are looking great!
