Are you kidding me!? I had two relatively small bedrooms that I wanted to air out after my kids went back to college. Set up one and one room, no problem. Set up the other and another room, few minutes later as I was washing my hands in the bathroom right next to the room, I heard a loud pop sound, and then crackling sound like fireworks. I open the door and saw that the product had exploded and there's white pieces, I assume we're part of the bag, all over. The fumes were so overwhelming, I could not stay in the room to inspect if there was any damage to the bedding or carpet. I called customer service at bioside, no answer, not surprising, had to leave a voicemail. Several hours went by, no return call, left a second message. As of right now I have yet to hear back from the company after 6 hours. I will need to inspect the room after I air it out tomorrow morning. No! I would not recommend purchasing this product.

I know this is marketed as a deodorizer, but it’s much more. Chlorine dioxide is used in mold remediation as well as things like crime scene cleanup because it’s a very effective oxidizer. So when I had a small gap in my shower surround from replacing hardware, I grabbed what I knew would work. And it did!Usage is as easy as could be. Put the container in the middle of the room and open cupboards and drawers. Open the foil pack and put the small mesh bag in the cup it came in, add one included measure of water, exit and close the door.It will smell like chlorine, so if you can do this while you won’t be home for…a day or so…you will thank yourself. Important to note, this is NOT the chlorine gas that will eat your lungs in seconds. That’s what you get when chlorine is in the second part of the name like sodium hypochlorite (chlorine bleach). In this case, it’s the oxygen that does the heavy lifting. Still, it will smell like a pool for a while.Came back a day later, aired out the bathroom, and the musty smell has not returned. I’m happy enough that when I go away for a week next time, I’m setting several of these in the house, including one on a ladder beneath the return for my heat pump, and giving the whole house a nuke any funky scents face lift. I mean, my house doesn’t stink, but this will make sure there’s no mold or mildew anywhere and will nuke the last of the smoke for from the previous owner of my house.

one of our dogs got sprayed by a skunk-it was AWFUL and all consuming and the smell was everywhere in our house, even in rooms/upstairs where the dog never entered. it was kind of devastating and very overwhelming. trying to wash/scrub/clean every piece of clothing, every dish, carpets, bedding, mattresses, towels, it was ALL compromised and my very hard work was making a small difference if any at all. I found these, bought 4 for my 2600 sq ft house, set them off and it improved the situation mightily but not totally. you have to remove the source of the smell as well, so as I found more things that smelled strongly, and washed or removed them, the smell improved. I bought six more and set them all off and I can say we are finally skunk free. the comments that say it didnt work (there is always one) I am sure they feel that way, but if you dont get rid of the SOURCE of the smell say. musty old carpeting, etc, these won't help. if you have a lingering smell from something that is no longer there, this is a great product. also, we set these off with people in the house, just not in the same room and it was fine. the comment who says that the product says its ok, but they disagree is just that, a disagreement. this IS non toxic, it smells like chlorine for a bit and then that goes too and the product turns into salt water, nothing more. this issue was all consuming for us for weeks and THIS was what helped us finally turn the corner. I highly recommend.

This product worked for a while but was unable to completely get rid of the smell. We used it in a mobile to try and get rid of the mice smell after exterminating. We used it in an RV that had strong odour from a surrounding forest fire.We ultimately had to rent an ozone machine to completely eradicate the odour. So if you maybe have a slight odour residue this might be enough to do the job, otherwise save your money and put it towards something else.

We had a chest freezer get turned off a couple frozen turkeys spent a month in it before we figured out what was making that godawful smell. I scrubbed out the freezer with Palmolive four times, with a bleach solution three times, with Fantastick three times, and then with Comet twice. The smell persisted.I got this and followed the directions perfectly and waited 24 hours. When I opened the lid on the freezer the inside was full of this crazy yellow mist and smoke. I have never seen that before. I removed the little cup, sprayed out the inside of the freezer with water... and the smell was still there. It was much fainter, but still there. We left the freezer propped open outside for a few weeks and after three or four weeks the smell did finally go away. But the 24 fix I was promised---that didn't happen. So just OK.

Bought 6 of these for our 1200sqft (more than enough coverage of each one does 400sqft) house that had been smoked in by the previous owners. We tried a duct clean, ozone treatment, repaint and cleaned everything so we hoped these would work. Set them up before we left for the weekend. A few weeks later the chlorine smell and cigarette smell are both still here. The chlorine also discoloured two cloths we had out and just about killed two of my wife’s plants.

Set it, forget it, and then air it out!
