Installation : Replacing the W11048980 LED light assembly is a straightforward process. The light is flush-mounted, with no visible slots or openings on the frame. To remove the frame, carefully use a thin flat screwdriver or plastic pry bar to avoid damaging surrounding surfaces. The clear cover is secured with two screws and two snaps. Gently release the snaps and remove the cover by pulling it downward from the front. To access the snaps on the clear cover, pull out the upper shelf. The LED light itself is secured inside the clear cover with an additional snap.

This replacement part is best described as a godsend.The design of the light bulb is an absolute fail from whirlpool.It was at minimum a 20 minute ordeal. We had to look up videos and check other parts here on Amazon to find a good description.Our replacement part does not come with a putty knife. So instead we used a ice pick a cheese spreader and a pickle fork. It worked with only one tab broken. We decided not to put the cover in once we got the part in.Why in the world did Whirlpool not just make this a light bulb??????But again this part is a godsend.
