Excellent Fire Screen. Heavier than any I have had before. Comes in 4 parts and have to put it together. A little tricky but only took about 10 minutes. Definitely worth the price. It is not a screen but rather a heavy metal type cover.

This arrives needing assembly, which I started on my own easily enough. However, when it came to attaching the handle, I needed assistance because the metal pieces had to be pressed together so the bolt could reach the other side enough to allow the nut to start threading. It took some effort but we got it done. All assembled, the lid is not perfectly round, but it's good enough to rest on top of the lip of our firepit and not present ungainly gaps. The hook it comes with has two prongs, which were too wide to both fit in the handle, but a quick squeeze narrowed them enough so both can help lift the lid. Overall good solid product, but dropping a star for the challenging assembly and not quite circular appearance. If those things don't bother you, assume it's a five star and get it!

I am a very mechanically inclined person, yet this spark screen took at least an hour to line up the parts and assemble (including several partial disassemblies along the way). There are supposed to be two “A” type pieces and two “B” type pieces and you need to overlap them in a certain way to get the screw holes to line up. Unfortunately half of my pieces were unlabeled, and I think one of them was drilled wrong anyway. The fasteners are good, but likley will rust over time because they are painted steel. Recommend using your own 10 mm nut driver and 4 mm Allen Wrench to ease assembly, though minimalist tools are included if you don’t have these. Don’t consider the item collapsible, like the ad suggests, unless you want to completely disassemble it with tools and get covered with soot or rust. The tool provided to lift the spark screen is too short to be practical - you roast your forearm when you use it.
