Stunning Privacy Film – Elegant Look, Easy DIY, and Safe for Double-Paned/Low-E WindowsThis privacy film is absolutely gorgeous! The design is elegant and softly reflective—it gives off a slight silver shimmer when the light hits it, but the lines themselves are clear. I used it to cover two large kitchen door windows (21” wide and nearly 7 feet tall) to add privacy and soften the harsh afternoon sun. The result exceeded my expectations—it looks high-end and allows light in without sacrificing privacy. It’s also safe for double-paned windows and Low-E coated glass—as long as you’re not applying the film directly over the pane with the Low-E coating (more info on that below if you’re not sure).🛠️ Installation Tips 🛠️Before installing, I cleaned the glass thoroughly, including using a razor blade to scrape away any dried paint, even the smallest specks near the edges. This is crucial—film won’t stick well if there’s anything along the edge, even if it’s barely visible. If you find that the edges aren’t sticking well after placing the film:• Lift that section, spray more soapy water, and reposition it.• Use a squeegee or scraper to remove all the air bubbles.• You can re-wet and reset the film as many times as needed, as long as you keep the back saturated.• At the very end, I lightly misted the edges again and ran my finger over them, which helped everything seal perfectly.🫧 You can’t use too much soapy water—more is better. It helps everything slide into place and prevents air gaps. I installed this entirely on my own with just a step ladder and a little patience. This film is not only beautiful but functional, and it completely transformed the look and feel of my kitchen. If you’re on the fence—go for it. Just prep your windows properly and take your time with installation.(See my next section for tips on using it with double-paned or Low-E windows.)————————————⭐️ Safe for Double-Paned and Low-E Windows – Here’s What You Need to Know ⭐️I noticed a few reviews mentioning that this film isn’t suitable for double-paned or Low-E windows, and I wanted to share some helpful information to clear that up.Not all window films are the same, and it’s important to understand the differences. Films that reflect heat—like mirrored, metallic, or solar control tints—can sometimes cause thermal stress when used on double-paned or Low-E windows. These films absorb or reflect a high amount of heat, which can trap it between the panes and potentially lead to cracking or seal failure over time. However, this Jahoot film is a static cling decorative film, not a heat-reflective one:1. It is non-adhesive, non-metallic, and non-reflective2. It filters light and blocks UV rays but does not trap or reflect heat3. It is generally considered safe for modern double-pane and Low-E windows🪟 If your windows are Low-E 🪟Most newer double-paned windows (like those installed in homes built after the 2000s) have the Low-E coating on the interior-facing side of the outer pane, which means applying a film to the inner surface is usually safe.If you’re unsure, you can use the flame test to check:🔥 How to Perform the Flame Test 🔥1. At night, hold a small flame (like a lighter) near the window.2. You’ll see 4 flame reflections (1 for each glass surface in the double-pane unit).3. Look for the reflection with a blue or discolored tint—that’s the one with the Low-E coating.4. If the blue flame is not the closest reflection to you, then your inner surface is clear and safe to apply static cling film.In short, this film is not the same as solar tint or reflective films, and should not cause issues on typical Low-E or double-paned windows. It worked beautifully on mine!

Used this film on our shower door to elevate the look! I like the frosted/transparent combo and find the design subtle but enough to cover the interior and make the bathroom look more put together. The bubbles are kind of a pain to get out but the size worked without having to piece it all together.

My husband and I are renovating an older 1990 home that used to have the absolute ugliest vertical blinds throughout the house, including the sliding glass door going into the Florida room. I didn't want to replace the old vertical blinds with new ones. I wanted something sleek, modern, but functional. I used this frosted window film on one side of the sliding glass door, and it turned out beautifully! We plan to do the other side next. The clear Morocco lines give it a high-end, decorative look while still letting in plenty of natural light. It adds privacy without making the space feel closed off or dark. My husband loves the fact that we can see thru the decorative lines, allowing us to see if someone is on the other side of the door.Application was very easy for the most part. The most difficult part was lining up the patterns for 2 side-by-side rows of the liner since the door was so wide. It was easy to cut and forgiving enough to reposition during install. The bubbles worked out easily. Be sure you allow 1/8th inch on each side, as this is critical to work out any bubbles. If you install edge to edge, bubbles can't escape and it will continue to lift and bubble. One it dries and adheres to the window, it sticks well and truly looks like a custom window. It's very important to prep your window thoroughly before applying. We scraped any residue off, cleaned it with glass cleaner, and then I cleaned with a solution of soapy/ammonia water and squeegeed it dry. Be sure to use a bottle of water (just a little soap I side) to spray the glass, the back of the liner, and the front. You will need a squeegee to work the bubbles out.It looks like a custom design at a fraction of the cost. Highly recommend if you want to upgrade a plain glass door with style and function!

This a beautiful window film, but very tricky to apply because of the pattern matching. There is a lot of waste due to lining up the pattern and it is hard to do if the window is more than 18” wide. Once you ARE able to match up the pattern lines, cutting and joining is tricky and it bugs me to see the little gaps and/or overlap. It is hard to find a selvage edge that matches up with the first cut. The end result is beautiful overall (not counting the gaps/overlap but you should probably order twice as much as you need. It separates pretty cleanly and the quality is nice. It’s just tricky to put up correctly.

We just moved into a new house and I wanted something subtle and simple for the bathroom windows for privacy and something eye-catching. Static cling is the way to go as it’s easily installed and can be peeled off and adjusted if needed. The trick is to use a spray bottle of water and mist it on the windows before install. Measure and cut first.I measured the square footage needed for the windows when I chose the size roll I’d need. I installed this whole window in under 45 minutes. It is not see-through as you can see, but we do have woods on this side of the house.
