Today, Tucker and I are reviewing the 4' x 50' dark green privacy screen.Full disclosure, I receive certain products from Amazon, free of charge, in exchange for an honest review of that product. Also, you should know that I am taxed approximately 25%-35% of that product's value, so I do have some financial skin in the game.Initial thoughts: it's a heavy mesh, breathable, tarp like fabric, and it feels durable, easy to work with. The initial unpacking includes the fabric and a package of small zip ties to secure the fabric to your fence, and there were enough ties to get the job done, and then some. This worked well for my barbed wire fence, since the height of the highest wire is around 4 feet from the ground. I easily attached the top of the fabric along that top wire via the zip ties to hold it in place, which took less than 15 minutes.Since this is a barbed wire fence, the bottom wire sits about 6 inches from the ground, so this is unusable as an attach point to hold the bottom of the fabric. Rather, I would recommend trampoline stakes and are available on Amazon, which are curved, slender lengths of rubber coated rebar, specifically made to go thru the grommets, and get staked into the ground for a firm hold. Tent pegs that you can drive into the ground made of various materials, are also a good option, which you can then zip tie to hold the fabric down. For myself, I used this as an excuse to break out my bushcraft knife and use branches from trees on my property to fashion my own wooden tent pegs, which have the benefit of being free. $$$You can find videos like that on YouTube all day long. The fabric material lays nice and flat once you have both the top and bottom grommets secured. It's a good dark color of green with the reinforced grommeted edge leaning more towards black, but it's a good trim color. And even though I'm in a location that has frequent windy days, the fabric is strong, and stays securely in place.Observations:I can see this working with barbed wire fencing, and other specialty fencing like wood that has large gaps between the wood slats or boards where you want to cover those holes for privacy, but I think chain link is the ideal use for this, as there are multiple attach points for the fabric to be securely attached to, and easily.Make sure the minimum height of the fence is 4 feet to keep the fabric taut when securing it, or 6 feet tall, for the taller version of the fabric. The grommets are where they are, and if your fence is shorter than 4 feet, then this would require some creative approaches to securing the fabric to your fence. Generally, most barbed wire and chain link fences are 4 feet, but make sure. For those fences taller than 4 feet, it's not such a problem, you'll simply have some space either above and/or below the fabric, but you'll still have the main 'privacy' zone in the middle. And again, when evaluating your fence for this screen, be mindful of where the fabric would attach to the top and bottom. For different fence materials, you might benefit from buying thicker/longer zip ties, maybe 1/8" to 1/4" wide, in a length that accommodates attaching to your particular fence, but these were just fine for the barbed wire top, and tent peg bottom, and maybe for chain link, too.Oh, and there are 60 grommet attach points, 29 on the top, 29 on the bottom, and 2 in the middle, one at each end. Just be aware, if you decide on bushcrafting the wooden tent pegs, figure on making around 30 or so, and that might take a minute or two... 😁For Tucker and myself, the color is natural against the elements, it has greatly enhanced the look of the barbed wire fence, it has closed those areas in between the barbed wire strands that Tucker likes to sneak thru, and occasionally gets poked by the barbed wire, and it just makes the fence stand out and look more like a finished product. For the listed price, durability, and ease of installation, I think it's a good product that I felt comfortable to install myself, I would purchase, and I do recommend!👍
