After watching videos on how to repair my old cable, I was unsuccessful. Didn’t want to pay over $400 for the original cable when I stumbled onto this one. I wasn’t able to repair my old cable for under $50 but I did save over $100 by purchasing this cable. Highly recommend to Polaris pool cleaner owners.

When my Polaris 9650iq Sport was giving error code 10, I tested the cord with a multimeter and determined one of the wires was broken inside the cord. This tends to happen after 4-5 years of use. I replaced the cord with this one and it works like new.

My Polaris Sport 950 died after three years of service. It gave an error message whenever I tried to start it. I tried drying out the cable for a few days, then restarting it but that provided only a few minutes of relief. There are several videos on You Tube describing how to replace these cables. Some are better than the others and every one seemed to omit a step or two in the editing process. I recommend watching several before making the repair yourself. However, it is NOT a complicated process and should only take an hour of two. That is certainly worth the savings of over $600, compared to a replacement of the entire system. Update! - Irony of ironies: less than SIX HOURS after I posted a five star review, this cable failed me as well. I got the same "Error 10" message on the Polaris Controller that I did before replacing the cable. I got four or five uses from it before it failed. I never left it in the pool beyond the cleaning time. I never pulled on the cable to remove the vacuum from the pool and handled it carefully, making sure that all the twists in the cable were out before reuse. I think that the Polaris anti-kink swivel device has a flawed design which predisposes it to failures like this. First of all, it does NOT keep the cable from developing lots of twists while the vacuum runs. It only makes it easier to un-kink the cable by allowing you to rotate it at the swivel when the vacuum is out of the pool without having to disconnect the cable at the control box. You can judge the quality of the swivel connector yourself in a YouTube video in which a clever fellow replaces the swivel connection himself. I'm so thankful I found this replacement floating cord! My puppy unfortunately chewed my last one into multiple pieces. This fit my Polaris 9550 sport perfectly & was a fairly easy installation that took less than half an hour total! My pool thanks you!!!

If you are getting errors on your polaris 9550 this is the right replacement cord. I tried to replace the plug first but still getting error 10 code so i had to replace the whole cord and now it is working like new. Mine failed in 5 years with light use… and be careful there are two replacement cord parts pay attention before ordering… 9400 and 9500 series replacement cords are different. And it takes like an hour to replace not very hard and youtube has good videos to help.
