Rocket stoves can vary widely and overheat a pan easily and flaming out around the edges which makes dangerous for burns. The center hole changes that by venting and naturally routing extra heat. Great for pancakes, bacon, eggs. Have a hook to move hot and hang to cool once you’re done cooking.

This griddle was designed specifically for use with rocket stoves, and it absolutely shines when the time comes to perform. The hole in the center makes all the difference, allowing the intense flame typical of rocket stoves to vent safely rather than fanning out around the edges and causing a "wall of flame" effect that can be uncomfortable to cook over. This also has the benefit of creating different "heat zones" on the cooking surface, similar to a wok, where it is significantly hotter around that center vent and cooler towards the edges. This variance lets you cook multiple items simultaneously at differing rates/temperatures. It cannot be overstated what a luxury that can be when you just want to get folks fed as quickly as possible and get back to the adventure at hand.The pan itself is of excellent quality. It hits that sweet spot for cast iron: satisfyingly thick and substantial without being overly bulky. The handle design is fantastic, allowing for an easy grip without getting in the way. Although it doesn't seem to be mentioned in the listing, my pan did come pre-seasoned. I chose to further season mine out of habit, however, as it really doesn't take much time and effort. Of course, the pan is not limited to rocket stoves and will work with any heat source that you would typically use with cast iron... it just happens to also be vastly superior to most others when used specifically on a rocket stove.Overall I could not be happier with this griddle. The design, quality, and build are all top notch and it is far and away the best performing pan I have ever used on a rocket stove. With the typical care you would provide for any cast iron pan, this one should last you decades at the least. And with a price tag of less than $50 at the time of writing, this little wonder is a very solid value as well. Highly Recommended!!

My husband is thrilled with it! It’s nice and thick, beautifully finished, and versatile. You can use over a fire, or even on the stove. For pancakes OR vegetables. Absolutely 5 stars from us! Worth it!

100/100Got a portable fire pit? A rack for cooking over a fire? THIS is a griddle everyone needs outdoors! It's a HEAVY, SOLID CAST IRON griddle with a "vent" (hole) in the center to let the smoke and flames through. It has rims to keep the food and juices IN the griddle and handles to make moving it easy . . . but remember gloves or pot holders! The handles get HOT!Ultimately, is it worth the price? Absolutely

So I finally got to try out my Onlyfire Griddle on my little rocket stove and it's quite wonderful. Love love love the hole on the middle that not only is useful for the rocket stove, but helps lighten the weight of the whole thing, which is great since it's cast iron. Also, this works well in electric ovens as well as camp ones. We were home last night and I didn't want to run the risk of ruining my chicken, which can take a long time to cook on a grill, so I cooked my thighs in the oven for half hour or so before slathering my bbq sauce on them and popping them onto my rocket stove for some crispy-ing from the fire, and some smoking from the apple wood I was burning...and the end result was some of the most juicy grilled thighs I've ever made. Everyone in my house was VERY grateful for the product so this is a big win for us. A++ product. Oh, and it fit great on the rocket stove. Was very sturdy and stable no problems whatsoever, and while the heat is naturally concentrated around the center of the hole where the fire was shooting out, the cast iron had good heat distribution considering. Again, A++ product!
