It works well for holding the Royer 121 which was my prime reason for buying. I was recommended another AT mount that was too loose but then stumbled on this style AT mount which seemed perfect. I was with this one instead as I think this version has some benefits. As you can see mine came cracked where the screw ( the same one other reviews talked about scratching their mic) inserts in the frame. Realistically this could have happened in shipping but nothing else seemed out of sorts. It does look like the screw has a groove to counter set into now. But this small flaw aside (some gaff tape will fix it), this mount does everything I want and holds very well. It’s a much cheaper alternative to the actual Royer mount. I’ve already ordered another one.

Fantastic design. I’ve been using them for years. I wish they hadn’t gone up in price so much.My units have been maintenance free. And the design is unique in that you don’t need to detach the mic cable meaning that you can readily place Microphone in the suspension unit quickly and easily. Also versatile in that I can put a ribbon Mike in there. Dictation seems to think I name my microphones. ☝️🤪.Or drop in a pencil condenser. Point being is that the clamping mechanism allows for a good range of microphones. And the suspension is adequate to handle the weight of most.I wish I could afford to buy a lot more of these things. They should sell them as a six pack for a decreased price.

Note for those looking to use this with the Samson Q2U -As other reviews have said, there used to be an issue with a screw inside the clamps scratching mics like the Q2U. That isn't a problem anymore, but the clamps are still tight enough to cause minor scratching. It's no fault of the mount, it's just a very tight fit - difficult to insert or remove. It's a great mount, so if you're okay with potentially getting some marks like the ones pictured, this will work with the Q2U.

It works great and the price is right. I am aware that other reviews talk about a screw being in the wrong place and this can scratch the casing of the microphone, this issue has been resolved. The screw is recessed and no longer an issue.

My new gear arrived on the same day - the stand, the shock mount, and the mic. I got everything set up quickly. When I expanded the clamp for the shock mount and tried to insert the mic, it was snug, almost too snug for my ATR2100. As I began to insert the mic the end got hung up on something and then gave way. I backed the mic out and noticed the screw was not flush and it left a huge scratch on my new mic. I even used a screwdriver to try and get the screw to get flush. It wouldn't. WHY?As consumers, we rely on manufacturers to take pride in the design and not damage other equipment in the process. This shock mount failed that test.During one of my recordings, I accidentally hit the desk and the shock mount did nothing to minimize the sound.MY ADVICE: Buy a shock mount from another company that specializes in equipment like this.

Die Halterung geht auch nicht weit genug auf, um es ohne Schieben locker einzulegen =(English: Holds the Mic safely, but there is an outstanding screw inside the frame which caused a big scratch to my mic by inserting and removing (Audio Technica ATR 2100)! Used on a Neewer scissor boom, this has taken the rumble right out of my Audio-Technica PRO 61. Sure, if I whack the desk, you'll still hear it, but with the desktop stand I used previously, any little movement in this second-floor apartment of mine would shake the setup and you could hear it come through in the recording. Now, I can comfortably record without having to worry if the neighbor kids next door are jumping up and down on the other side of the building. The mic fits comfortably into the clip about halfway down the barrel, and there's just enough room left for the windscreen to cover the grill without rubbing up against the suspension mechanism. It holds tight, it's out of the way, and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. I couldn't be happier with it.

I've used many of the more-expensive AT8410a shockmounts that these seem to be knockoffs of... most of them have broken (usually a snapped screw where the "ring" meets the pivoting base) and the thin arms that hold the bands bend pretty easily. These On-Stage mounts (and other similar Chinese versions) are built a little sturdier. I haven't had the same kind of failure. The knob (rather than slotted screw) for tightening the pivot is also an improvement.

This is a great shock mount and the lowest price I have seen by far for this model. It is very versatile and can be used with a wide variety of microphone styles and types. It provides a definite improvement in attenuation of rumble and floor noise (I use it in recording of plays which generate considerable vibration from performers moving about on stage). Good shock mounts can be expensive and this one is a bargain for providing the greatest bang (or should I say reduction in bang) for the buck.
