The only way to attach it is with the provided hardware but they don’t fit all rain gutters.

Ok, I can't attest to how these work for gutters so sorry for that. However, I bought it to go around the legs of my bed creating a boxed in area to keep my pets from crawling under the bed. It has worked well. I did use zip ties to attach to each leg but now my pets cannot hide under there causing them to be locked in the room at times.
