I had this dishwasher installed four months ago and it has NEVER worked. I have had seven (YES 7) GE authorized repairmen to my house, the wash pump has been replaced three times, a circuit board and various other parts but it NEVER has worked. I was finally told by a GE executive that the dishwasher will be replaced, installed and the old one removed only to find out that GE, which manufactures nuclear reactors, jet engines and gas turbines does not know how to install the dishwasher and I need to hire someone to install GE does NOT honor its warranty for repair and labor for one full year. I will NEVER buy a GE product and I highly recommend no one to but this dishwasher or any other product from GE.

GE, are you OK? Why do you hate your customers so? I ask because I recently installed this very dishwasher in my apartment, and I can only conclude that whoever designed it genuinely hates all human beings, especially the ones that buy this dishwasher. Either that, or GE simply does not even bother to test out its appliances to see if they are actually something the rest of use can use. Actually, that can't be the answer, because it appears that you have gone out of your way to make this dishwasher nearly impossible to use.So what's wrong with it, besides "everything"? Let's start with the placement of the detergent holder. Like most dishwashers, it's a small recess into which you put the detergent tablet and then snap shut a door to hold it in. The idea, of course, is that the door opens during the cycle to clean your dishes. So why on earth would you put that recess in a place that it is constantly blocked by the cutlery in the cutlery container that you have placed directly in front of this recess? There are literally parts of the cutlery container that you cannot use because using them would block the door covering the detergent, as I have found out the hard way. How can it be that this was not discovered during some kind of testing period? Or how about the wine glass holders on the top rack? They fold down and are specifically designed for you to place the stem of a wine glass through. Unfortunately, if your wine glass actually has a stem then it will be too tall to actually fit on the top rack - something you will find out when you innocently try to slide the rack back inside the dishwasher and find it has smashed your wine glass. Yes, I said smashed. So little testing has been done on this thing that GE has not even noticed that you cannot place a wine glass in a rack as intended without it being broken. Honestly, I could go on and on. How the places meant for the plates won't actually hold any kind of normally shaped or sized plate. How there is nowhere you can put a bowl. How there is nowhere you can easily place any kind of pot or saucepan. Again... how could none of this been tested?Oh, and finally, when you do manage to get your dishes inside and the machine on.... it does an absolutely terrible job of actually cleaning them. My washing routine now consists of putting the dishes in the dishwasher, taking them out, and washing them all over again by hand. Not sure what we have done to insult you, GE... but, please, get yourself some help.
