I've used these staples for years with my inflatable yard decorations. The loop at the top of the heavy guage staple makes it easy to remove, and if necessary, you can use a rubber mallet to pound it into hard ground. One caution: Don't use in an area with foot traffic - someone is likely to trip.

I use these to secure chicken wire cloches and other metal plant protectors to the ground, and these staples are easier to remove than others when it is time to tend to the plants or move the cloches to another location. I just wish that they were a little cheaper.

Have you ever tried pulling out the fabric staples and they are semi-buried in the soil? If so, you will appreciate loop at the top of these staples. They are long enough to hold the fabric down yet easy enough to remove when need be. I haven't tried the discs with the staples. They might give greater resistance to tearing but I haven't had any problem with using just the staples so far. I wouldn't bother buying regular staples again.
