I like this little girl rain gauge. However, I have 2 problems with it. The post that holds it into the ground came out the 2nd time I removed it from the ground. The other problem is that I have to remove the gauge in order to read it if the rainfall if less than one inch.

This rain gauge is worthless!Inch measurements have only 3 hashes (between 0.0 and 0.5, and between 0.5 and inch. See photos). Metric is measured in cm rather than ml.The little girl is cute, though, and fairly heavy.

I haven't had any rain since setting it outside so don't know if it is accurate. I noticed that the girl's head is tilted directly above the rain tube so I figure it will knock extra rain into it. I did have trouble installing it. There should have been instructions to drill a hole in the post first because pounding the screw into the post ruined the threads so wasn't able to put it on a post. It works sitting on a table and is cute.

Such an elegant garden accessory, but I couldn't believe the vendor does not offer replacement udometers. After searching measurements of replacement udometers available on Amazon, I found a match: Bonlting 5" Capacity Rain Gauge Glass Replacent Tube. Yes, it's glass, and its diameter is slightly smaller than the original, but it fits snugly enough to withstand the worst winds our thunderstorms can throw at us. The readings we obtain are close enough to those reported by TV weather people for the clouds over their gauge downtown, so I'm satisfied with the accuracy of our gauge. It comes by slow boat from China, so be patient.

Such a cute garden accessory! I am giving it a 3 for accuracy simply because I don’t really know how accurate it is . . . it’s plenty accurate enough for me, but if you want professional weatherman level accuracy, then this is not the product for you. If you want a cute garden accessory that’s accurate enough for your needs, then this is fine. It seems to read heavy rainfall better than it does light rain - sometimes mine is still empty even after a light rain when there should be something . . . but since I only wanted to know how much rain we get when we have a heavy rain, that is not a problem for me. NOT easy to read from a distance (like from inside your house) ... you have to go to the gauge to read it easily.
