This is a good quality bilge pump. Once I got it primed, it worked good. Great for emergencies when power isn't available.

I mounted this on the bulkhead of my small sailboat to pump water out of my sump if the electric pump fails. I have had pump failures before due to the pump itself and electrical issues, and it is scary when caught out in a storm. I put some water in the sump and tested it; it works fine once primed, but priming does take some fast pumping. Speaking of fast - the rated capacity of 5.3 gpm is at 70 strokes per minute. My wife timed me and I could not pump the handle that fast over a minute. I had about 4 gallons of water in the sump for testing, and it did pump out the water within that minute - but it was already primed, so it would take a while longer to get it to prime and pump it out. Still, it will get the water out. I am using it in a location where I have about 5 feet of lift, and made sure to find a mounting location where I had quick access and plenty of room to pump before mounting.
