Great pack, we have 3 of these packs and have packed out several elk. Sturdy frame and lots of storage. 3rd year for one of these packs, still curious on how well the plastic clips hold out.

5 stars but let me break this down for you...Went on a elk and mule deer hunt in Colorado with this bag. Took it up to 10,000 feet and probably hiked 20-35 miles in 5 days. If anyone knows anything about back packing thru elk country, they know that’s a lot. Anyway, I harvested a mule deer buck and a cow elk. The mule deer with this bag was an absolute cake walk. Was able to pack out all our meat and antlers. As for the elk, now that was a serious challenge. The bag? Oh the bag did great. I’m happy to say I put this bag thru hell and back. Didn’t rip, never wished for something more, and I sure as heck couldn’t handle more. The one negative I’ll say about this bag is that the weight you can carry with this bag is something you need to be really smart about. I’d say I loaded the bag with 100-150 pounds of elk. The bag handled it easy. I didn’t handle it well at all. Throwing 100 pounds on your back and walking up and down hills is not for the weak. All in all, I’d buy this bag again if I had to.

Was heavy when packed with just 2.5l of water but it handled being tossed around and fallen on very well.

The side pouches could be larger to accommodate a bigger spotting scope, otherwise quality and construction are hard to beat.

I recently used this pack out in Western Oklahoma and I was very pleased. It is comfortable, durable, and plenty big enough to fit all my hunting equipment. I have no complaints.

Originally reviewed this as five stars and very impressed. Everything is well built solid and great configuration. Except the chest strap. Which is 3/4 circle plastic designed to 'clip on' a fabric coated plastic rail on the shoulder strap. Which started failing on me after a few trips. Then, had to cut into the strap and melt the end of the rail to slide clip back on. See it comes off, but does not go back on. I have seen these fail religiously on cheaper packs and its unbelievable to me Eberlestock chose this configuration on Team Elk, when other packs I've seen from them have fail proof webbing stitched around shoulder straps. I'll be contacting Eberlestock to see if I can swap out the shoulder straps. Doubtful. Major weak link in an otherwise awesome pack built for a lifetime. Unbelievable. Eberlestock knew this configuration would fail in the field and I guarantee I'm not the first guy cussing on a rainy mountain side with a knife and Bic lighter trying to limp this pack along.UPDATE: Called Eberlestock and noted my dissatisfaction with their choice of chest strap. He told me to send it back and they would fix it. Then it would be the same weak link. Only other option was spending another $27 on the "shooters harness" replacement shoulder straps (photos on their website) which turns out are still reliant on plastic parts but 100% better than what comes on Team Elk. So for $327 and the headache I wish I would have spent $425 and got a Kuiu Icon Pro 5200. Don't believe me the chest strap is that important? Put an elk quarter in it and see. Sorry Eberlestock you are going down the wrong road and it's disappointing since I've been eyeing your products for years and finally got what I thought I wanted.

This pack was met all of my needs on a recent elk hunt in Colorado. Many zippered pouches provided convienient storage in easy to access places. (GPS in right belt pouch, follow up shots and primers in front left pouch).Built in hook for hanging your hydration pack without spillage.large size allowed for collapsable decoy, extra clothing, rain gear, food...Very adjustable to fit taller people. I am 6,2' and could adjust to fit comfortably.Quiet, comfortable, convienient were all things that came to mind when using this pack.Solid construction was obvious when I started to fill it with gear.I would recomend this pack to serious hikers and any mountain hunters.
