I use it to control one more light fixture in my room with the option to turn it off without turning off the ceiling fan. The price is too high for this small simple product.

Switches work fine, it's just the assembly and usability that could be better. For one, badly needs to be equipped with a slim hex nut such that installation through sheet metal is possible. As is, the dress nut bottoms out leaving about .2" of threaded shaft showing, meaning you can't even get close to tightening them. Fortunately I had some plumbing washers with a 3/8" hole that were thick. I don't know what you could install this in that wouldn't require washers/shims? Certainly not typical sheet metal. Better if they could supply a slim hex nut for securing the switch: not something in my inventory nor easy to procure...this type of nut is used on a lot of audio connectors.Secondly, the pull chain is only about 2" long. I retrofitted three of "Sea Gull Lighting 7543503-962 Clip Three Ceiling Flush Mount Hanging Modern Light Fixture". Only 1" of chain hangs outside and frequently falls inside the glass. Now I have to buy a spool of 3mm ball chain with connectors to extend them such that they'll stay outside the glass and hang it a reasonable height for my wife to reach. The Sea Gull's visible metal is brushed nickel so I bought Stainless ball chain: I'll clip the supplied brass ball chain shorter such that the brass chain and connector stays hidden behind the Sea Gull glass. It would also help if they stated that a 3/8" drilled hole is required.

The chain was about half an inch shorter than what I needed. Would be good for most applications.

This is a decent product. Works fine. A little high priced but it's better than the alternative of buying an entire assembly. No instructions so watch a video before buying, and make sure you have proper wire cutters/strippers and that you know how to join wires.

Needed to replace a broken plastic switch in an older ceiling fan (1987 Panasonic). This fit well and was easy to install. Seems to be well made.

A little expensive, but worth the price. The thread on this switch is the same as the original Hunter switch. It is a bit longer than 3/8 of an inch. My local Home Depot and Lowe's only had a pull switch with a shorter threaded neck that wouldn't allow Hunter light adapter to be attached.

I gave 4 stars because I couldn't install myself. The fan/light combination unit had to be held to install the Zing Ear and I could not hold it myself, so I got my two sons to do it. They were successful and I now have my kitchen light back again. It works great!
