I have been getting these diaries for many many years and none of them has ever had a smell - this one smells absolutely horrendous. I cannot even keep it in my apartment - it is on balcony, and doubtful that the smell will go away. I threw out the box it came in so I am unable to return. I will never order this again. Very very disappointed.I would like now to say that Amazon kindly sent me a replacement and it just came and it has no smell. So I would now give the item 5 stars. Obviously the first diary got exposed to something that made it smell awful. Thank you so much Amazon for sending the replacement. Much appreciated.

I'm going back to the smaller books that I used to use in the early 2000s...my life is a little simpler these days. For a dozen years, I had gone to the larger sizes, but after doing page line counts, I discovered I could go back to the size I started with in 2002. I customize my pages by using White Out (or similar) to cover the printing at the top of pages and enter my own title. With this book, I think I'll print out strips with my Dynamo to customize page titles. I use pages for things like keeping track of financial stuff like you do with a checkbook register and credit card transactions, monies paid out for bills, etc. Several times a year, I go back to an earlier book to look up a day...my grown kids sometimes will ask...Mom, do you know when this and that happened? And I go look it up...take a picture of the page, and text the image to them.
