For anyone wondering, this is definitely the correct rear power door lock actuator for post facelift (97-01) Jeep Cherokee XJs. I had mine professionally installed and it went smoothly. Now my lock works and I can use my keyless entry system and security system. This might be the only brand new part left for the rear doors. Better than taking a chance with 2-5 actuators from a junkyard.

They do the job but the basic setup/adjustments were not correct. If you look at the picture (red circle) you see the adjustment as needed to be set at the lower end. The left 1 wasn't all the way and required extra pressure to open the door. The right 1 was never adjusted and if they would have checked it to make sure it functioned they would have noticed that it would not click in to hold the door closed. The adjuster was all the way open. I have replaced these on other Cherokee's and all others were set correct right out of the packaging. their lack of quality checks required removing, troubleshooting and reinstalling them which doubled the time to change them
