Two Ways Easy Switch

Bought this switcher for out wood turners club. We have 2 cameras and a computer we need inputs for and a computer and tv for outputs. My only request would be to be able to sync both outputs to the same source with one button press.

I have been using the avedio links HDMI Matrix Switch for over a year now, and I am still very impressed with its performance and features. This HDMI matrix switch has made managing multiple HDMI devices and displays a breeze, and it has been a great addition to my home entertainment setup.One of the things I appreciate most about this product is its versatility, thanks to its four HDMI inputs and two output ports. I can have multiple devices plugged in at once, such as my PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and Wii U, and I can easily switch between them using the included remote control. The fact that I can have both outputs displaying at the same time is also a great feature.Another thing I really like about this HDMI matrix switch is the separate 3.5mm audio jack for each output port. I was able to plug my PC speakers into the 3.5mm jack for output 1, and this allowed me to output audio from whatever was set on output 1 to the PC speakers. This feature made it very convenient to switch between devices without having to worry about what the speakers are plugged into.Here are some of my favorite features:- 4K 60Hz support: This HDMI matrix switch supports resolutions up to 4K 60Hz, which means I can enjoy high-quality video and audio.- Plug-and-play setup: Setting up this switch was very easy. I have 4 game systems connected at all times. I live stream and do local recording. I wanted a single device that lets me output to multiple monitors without having to connect additional splitters and selectors. Well Neo, we're going to introduce you to the Matrix.Connecting the device is simple. Plug the input devices (for me, it's my game consoles) into the input. Then plug the output into your monitors/TV's. The device is powered by a Micro USB. I would NOT recommend plugging this into your PlayStation/X Box as powering off the device will power down the Matrix (hurray for humanity). I just used a phone charger connected to the Micro USB that came in the box. Super simple.The key is there is no Spoon, nor documentation. Instead, you have to either look at Amazon or find another source for how to configure your Matrix. Out of the box, it has an EDID configuration with 16 possible configurations. There's a really simple way to remember this.1 = 4k2 = 3D3 = DTS/5.1 Surround4 = Stereo (2 channel)If you turn on 1, 3, and 4, you'll get 4k output with 7.1 surround sound as 5.1 + 2.0 (2 channel) = 7.1. If you leave all of the switches off, it just passes through everything and goes by the source.If you're like me, you want to manipulate the Matrix. By selecting my desired output, I'm able to switch between signals without causing my recording devices to completely drop signal and error out. Great, right?Sorry, but leaving all switches off allows the Smiths to HDCP you to death. As such, if you want to record from most game systems, you'll need to at least have 1 switch in the on position.The 8-button remote is easy to use, but easy to lose. It's small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and has a button for each input for each output. If you lose the remote, you can also tap buttons on the front, but when wanting to jump from input 2 to input 1 on output A, it's 3 taps without a remote. You'd better keep it in a safe spot.I've not noticed any lag when gaming. Even with setting mine for 1080p with 7.1 (EDID 0011), I'm able to game as if I've connected the TV directly to the PS4.Another benefit was recording. I have connected 2 different video capture devices to the outputs to perform comparisons. This is great because I don't have to play a section of a game twice nor am I tainting the output by having one plugged into the other. It makes game streaming easier.If you're not a game streamer, I can see this being used to have a single game system, computer, media player, or other device output to multiple monitors. If you're running AV for a church or other speaking engagement, this would be a useful choice.The biggest complaint I have is the lack of documentation. Otherwise, this is a device I would highly recommend.

So - my imac got old and died, and I bought a mac mini and a *truly crappy* 4k monitor that never really wanted to do 4k with the mac. I tried various cables, no joy - stuck at some weird sub-4k resolution, 30 Hz, and I figured I could live with it and buy a better monitor someday. And now I recently got a steam deck, and due to the junk monitor not supporting sound, needed to both switch video and break out the audio. This looked good, so I decided to give it a shot.I plugged it in, switched the video - and I am staring at a *rock solid* 4k 60Hz screen. It looks flawless - the mac is doing retina resolution and down-scaling, and my junk monitor looks like one costing 3x as much. Apparently this little box took the junky mac HDMI signal and said "oh - you're trying to do 4k 60Hz? Let me *fix that for you* " - and does so. I couldn't be more delighted. I still can't do keyboard volume controls, but that is apple's fault. I give this 5 stars, but they deserve an extra star for not just relaying the HDMI but improving it.The box looks well built, has buttons if you lose the remote, and the remote is dead simple. If I lose the manual, the cheat sheet for the DIP switches is printed on the case, that's good. I plan to promptly forget it exists, which is exactly what I want from video hardware. Well done all around.Unfortunately, my kids swiped my spare hdmi cable, so testing with the steam deck will have to wait, but purely for the excellent output I had to do this review. I didn't expect a boring old video switcher to surprise and delight me - but it did. If I run into issues I will update the review, I promise, but right now I'm 100% satisfied.

This switch does everything, I switch inputs using the button on the front probably about 30 times a day and still works great. No issues passing edid and overwriting the audio type works great.

Works great and great solution when my integrated amp died, which was my previous HDMI switcher.

It appears that if the signal for both inputs turns off, the whole box will turn off and requires a device reset to get working again.

Easy to use, does exactly what i want it to, DIP switches for manually setting modes are a plus, audio extractor is also a nice feature to have.

EDIT: In the few days following my review, I noticed some screen flickering/blackouts. I'll be returning the unit. Updated to 2/5 stars.EDIT 2: After updating my original review, I was contacted by the seller who offered technical support and tried to make it right. Unfortunately, I had already mailed my return, but I was impressed with the level of customer service. Updated to 3/5 stars.Original review: 4/5 stars.Everything works fine. It really helps with cable management since all ports are on the backside. Image quality is exactly like before, can't notice any differences. No flickering or other artifacts.I have 2 1080p monitors, a desktop PC with 2 HDMI out and a laptop with one HDMI out and 1 USB A to HDMI adapter.I can't comment on durability as I've only had the unit a few days.My main issue is the A/B labels. I wish the switch labels were reversed... just doesn't feel right to have Switch A on the right and Switch B on the left... I thought I could get away with it by hiding the unit and using the remote, but you need line of sight with the unit for the remote to work. Therefore, hiding the matrix behind my desk wasn't an option.There's a small delay when switching inputs (didn't have that issue with the "dumb" Sabrent adapters I used before). I feel like the audio port could have been on the rear of the unit with the other ports.All things considered, I'm pretty satisfied, some things just annoy me a bit but the main functions work perfectly.
